With only two months to Orange Democratic Movement primaries, two major factions have emerged in Nyamira Count, headed by two gubernatorial rivals.
The two factions are embroiled in major tussle at grassroots with each camp registering ODM members ahead of party primaries.
The first camp under the stewardship of West Mugirango MP James Gesami, who is also eying the gubernatorial seat comprises of Timothy Bosire ( Kitutu Masaba), Charles Geni (North Mugirango) and Women Representative Alice Chae.
On Tuesday, Bosire, who also doubles are ODM national Treasurer admitted that his camp was coordinating membership registration and voter sensitization.
“Everyone has a democratic right to support whoever he deems fit to serve. We have embarked on a major ODM membership registration,” he said.
The second camp under the stewardship of Governor John Nyagarama has also been registering voters silently, aiming to clinch the party ticket.
“We are in ODM to stay and cannot bolt out. We are ready for nominations and confident of victory,” said communication officer Dan Onyancha.
Others who are also in the race to capture ODM ticket are John Kumenda and retired Judge David Onyancha.
Political temperatures are expected rise on Thursday when party leader Raila Odinga visits the region to rally for voter registration.
