Mbadi is asking the government to fund all party nominations.

"If we are to source our own funding, it may be tricky because the IEBC is very expensive. It is one of the most expensive electoral bodies in the world,” he said, as quoted by Nation.

The Suba lawmaker however said IEBC carrying out party nominations would ensure credibility.

The party, led by Opposition chief Raila Odinga, has been in the past rocked by chaos during nominations.

The poorly managed party polls have led to ‘unpopular candidates’ being fielded to face much able opponents.

Party officials say this has also affected Raila’s quest for the presidency.

Mbadi also said ODM will carry out its nominations in February next year.

“We will do our nominations in February and March next year. I don’t think the idea of people shifting to other parties will change our position. Our aim is not to cage people in the party,” he said.
