Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) can not win the 2017 general election without him and Cord co-principal Moses Wetangula.
Kalonzo termed leaders uriging ODM Party leader Raila Odinga to pick Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho as his 2017 running mate as Jubilee moles.
Speaking at his Karen home, Kalonzo said Jubilee will trounce the former prime minister if he picks Joho over him or Wetangula.
“I was surprised to hear even respected people like Anyang Nyong’o talking of such things. You expect contradictions in a coalition because we are democratic, but anyone who is trying to suggest that Raila can run without Kalonzo or Wetang’ula is a Jubilee mole,” he said.
The former vice president accused Raila's close allies of causing discord in the coalition.
“Raila, Wetang’ula and I have no problem. Squabbling is not between the three of us. The problem we have are the sycophants, the extremists. Who doesn’t know within Cord and Jubilee that ODM can’t win without Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang’ula? Even a child knows,” said Kalonzo, as quoted by the Nation.
The Ukambani political kingpin has maintained that he is the best candidate the coalition can field in a bid to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the next general election.
Joho, however, has refuted claims of being Raila's running mate in the 2017 polls, saying he will be defending his governor's seat.
