A Narok Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) MP has requested the ODM Narok gubernatorial aspirant Joseph Tiampati to drop his bid for CCM's candidate so as to consolidate the Masai vote and win against the Jubilee Party.
Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno said the opposition can only beat the incumbent Samuel Tunai through merging and uniting their campaign.
Ngeno said the Maasai and Kipsigis communities will open talks with ODM's Tiampati in order to prevail upon him to cede his ambition for Ntutu.
Tunai of the Siria clan enjoys huge support from the Kipsigis in Narok South and West as well as in other smaller Maasai clans.
CCM’s Patrick Ntutu and Tiampati on the other hand enjoys support of the huge Ilpurko clan and in case both run, fears are that the vote will be divided.
“We cannot afford to divide our votes; that would be tantamount to giving this man (Tunai) a second term, which he does not deserve,” Ngeno said.
