According to Ole Osono, there were more organised ways police could have used to stop the Cord principals other than roughing them up and lobbing teargas canisters at them.

Speaking in Nakuru town on Monday evening, the former Gilgil MP said there was more than meets the eye in the way the commission was handling the opposition.

"It was a peaceful match but having a heavy contingent of police the whole day showed that they were under instructions to disrupt everything," he said, adding that such crude means were outdated and hindered democracy.

Several people were injured after Cord supporters led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula tried to access IEBC offices at the Anniversary towers Nairobi to eject the IEBC commissioners.

The opposition is demanding for the disbandment of the IEBC before the 2017 polls on grounds that it has lost credibility and is working with Jubilee in an attempt to rig the 2017 elections.
