Photo:@RailaOdingaRaila Odinga led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has cleared 850 aspirants to seek for various seats unopposed among them 16 governors who have no opponents in the party.

Among those cleared are Governors Hassan Ali Joho (Mombasa), James Ongwae (Kisii), Josphat Nanok (Turkana), Kajiado’s David Nkedianye and Evans Kidero of Nairobi among others.

While issuing the certificates, Raila accused the Jubilee administration for allowing a section of civil servants to engage in active politics in disregard to the constitutional.

The former Prime Minister criticised a section of legislators for decamping to Jubilee exuding confidence that ODM party will sweep all the way to leadership.

ODM party used the occasion to call for political maturity urging its supporters and aspirants to maintain peace for a free and fair nominations.

Governors from Nyanza region which is seen as the bedrock of the party will have to sweat it out to retain their seat. The party is expected to commence its party primaries on the 7th to 22nd of this month.

Meanwhile, sharp divisions have emerged over the Kisumu ODM election board.

A group allied to Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma claims those in the board are allied to Kisumu senator Prof. Anyang' Nyongo who is eyeing the seat and cannot be trusted to deliver a credible process.

The group now wants the top office to appoint neutral members to oversee the party primaries in Kisumu which will be held on the 19th of this month.
