The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has warned members against inviting supporters to Orange House, Nairobi, ahead of the party's Disciplinary Committee seating on Monday.

Party leader Raila Odinga in a statement said ODM members summoned to Nairobi in relation to the recent violence in Migori and Mathare will not be allowed to come with supporters.

Among those expected to face the Committee include Governors Okoth Obado (Migori) and Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Senators James Orengo (Siaya) and Prof Anyang Nyong'o (Kisumu), MPs John Pesa (Migori) and Junet Mohamed (Suna East) as well as Philip Makabong'o and Migori gubernatorial aspirant Ochilo Ayacho.

Others are nominated Senator Elizabeth Ong'oro, Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang' and Abel Osumba.

They will be tasked to explain the circumstances under which violence rocked their respective rallies in Migori and Mathare ahead of the party's primary elections slated for April 13.

“The party's Central Committee condemns unreservedly the acts of violence in the named county and constituency and hereby mandates the Disciplinary Committee to convene and speedily dispose off these matters,” the statement read in part.

“The Central Committee expects to receive the Disciplinary Committee report not later than Tuesday April 11, 2017. Those summoned to appear before the Disciplinary Committee in person will not be allowed to be accompanied by supporters on Monday April 10, 2017 at Orange House.”

Obado, Joho, Orengo, Nyong'o, Pesa and Ayacho were summoned following the fracas that erupted at a rally in Migori town last Monday when Mr Obado stormed the ODM rally with youth.

Obado accused Joho, Orengo and Nyong'o of staging a coup in his county by directly campaigning for his opponent.

Ong'oro, Kajwang' and Osumba were summoned because of the fighting that rocked Orange House when Ong'oro presented to the party a complain over the presentation of a direct nomination certificate to Mr Kajwang.

Ong'oro is eying the Ruaraka parliamentary seat.
