Addressing the press after a joint meeting in Nairobi's Pan African Hotel Thursday, the lawmakers, led by Lugari MP Ayub Savula, said that the three parties are ready and able to steer the opposition, should ODM bow out.

They demanded that NASA convene an urgent meeting to discuss the recent happenings, including Odinga's peace agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta last Friday.

''In case ODM engages Jubilee in a partnership that is between ODM and Jubilee and in case ODM is swallowed in this arrangement, we are ready to take over the leadership of the opposition in the country,'' the leaders are quoted by the Citizen Digital.

They maintained that they will remain rooted in the opposition block in the event that the newfound friendship between the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led party results into a merger.

''In case ODM gets married to Jubilee, we will divorce them and remain in NASA. We are ready to take up the role as the official opposition in this country, and this is will be the last resort, we have talked and agreed,'' they are further quoted.

This comes only a day after Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced that himself, Musalia Mudavadi of ANC and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula are keen on holding a meeting with Kenyatta who is currently away to Cuba.
