Nominated Senator Janet Ong’era has confirmed deployment of polling agents in all stations across Nyacheki ward amidst Jubilee rigging plot ahead of Wednesday’s by-elections.
This comes a day after angry youth’s pelted stones on three Jubilees allied MPs who were allegedly dishing money on electorates to influence voting pattern.
Speaking to the reporter on Tuesday, the Chief ODM agent said the party would not condone ‘rigging’ and said the agents would report ‘fishy’ incidents to the temporary communication center at Nyacheki.
“We are keen because our opponents have been holding meetings throughout the day and we know their plans. We cannot allow IEBC to rig the elections and that is why we have deployed agents in every polling station,” she said.
“We are sure of victory and what remains now is guarding our votes. We have MPs and MCAs who have volunteered to be our agents and we are not leaving any stone unturned,” she added.
The by-election has narrowed down to a contest between ODM and Jubilee with the latter represented by Maxwell Magoma while the former is banking on Naphtali Onkoba.
