Orange Democratic Movement party has denied claims that it fronted nominated Member of Parliament, Oburu Odinga for the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) seat.
The party leader’s spokesman Dennis Onyango, in a statement, Sunday night, noted that Oburu rejected the proposal after the party had considered nominating him.
“Dr Oginga formally declined this offer last weekend and instead asked the party to give priority to one of those whose nominations were shot down by Jubilee last time,” said Onyango.
The party’s reaction comes hours after information emerged that Oburu and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s son, Kennedy Musyoka, had applied for the EALA slots.
The Majority leader in the National Assembly, Aden Duale, accused Raila Odinga and Kalonzo of nepotism saying they were favouring their relatives.
