The remarks of the Garissa Town MP came after the lawmakers supporting the former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga said that they would skip the swearing in ceremony.

Wandayi said that Jubilee lacks the numbers to attain the two-thirds majority in parliament.

The Uguja elect MP said that the sentiments of the lawmaker are unthoughtful since no business will go without a speaker and Deputy Speaker being sworn into office.

“Jubilee does not command a two thirds majority in the Senate or the National Assembly. And yet at the first round of voting for each of two positions, a threshold of two thirds of total House membership is a requirement,” he said, as quoted by Standard.

Duale had said that it makes no sense for the MPs to skip the session because NASA has filed against Jubilee. The MP opined that the case at the Supreme Court is between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
