ODM has dismissed reports that former Imenti Central MP Gitobu Imanyara has succeeded Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba as the party's secretary general in an acting capacity.
“Namwamba who is the secretary general of the party has not handed in his resignation letter despite news in the media that he has resigned from the post,” ODM director of communications Philip Etale said.
Etale added that the duty of appointing a new official of the party rests with the central management committee which has to meet and make recommendations to the National Executive Committee for consideration.
Etale concluded by saying if it is true that Mr Namwamba resigned and subsequently hands in the resignation letter, then committee will meet on Tuesday, followed by the NEC meeting on Thursday, to discuss the matter and make the necessary decision."
