The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has dismissed Fredrick Oyigi, who claims to be vying for Embakasi North seat on the party’s ticket.
“ODM has learnt that one Mr. Fredrick Oyugi is running up and down in Embakasi North Constituency of Nairobi County purporting to be the party's candidate for the seat in the August 8th general election.”
“In view of the above, the party wishes to inform the public and particularly the electorate in Embakasi North Constituency that the party's candidate for the seat is Ms. Jane Muringi Wangoi,” said ODM's Director of Communications Philip Etale in a statement.
The party said Ms. Wangoi was duly nominated by party members in the constituency, certified by the National Elections Board of the party and cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to run for the seat on the ODM ticket.
“She has the full blessings of the party to campaign for, and deliver the seat.”
The party urged Mr. Oyugi to respect the decision of the party members in the constituency and join Ms. Wangoi in her quest for the seat in the interest of the party.
