On Wednesday, Governor John Nyagarama, who remains indisposed at the US, accused Deputy President William Ruto of allegedly meddling with an appeal challenging his victory.

Through his Press Secretary Nyambega Gisesa, the ODM governor accused Ruto of intimidating judges to overturn High Court ruling in favour of Jubilee's Walter Nyambati.

"Deputy President William Ruto should stop intimidating judges to rule in Nyambati's favour. He must allow courts to make independent decisions.

"We are aware that he paid Fred Ngatia close to Sh15 million to appear in the case just to intimidate judges. He cannot use Nyamira as his test for 2022," he said.

On Monday, a three bench judge bench led by Kathrima I' Manoti set July 26th as the date for determination of the case.

But Nyambati's lead counsel Osoro Mogikoyo rubbished claims that Ruto's hand manifested itself through lawyer Ngatia.

"Courts normally rule based on the available evidence. I don't know why the other side is panicking. Let us not discuss the matter which is actively in court."
