The ODM National Executive Board (NEB) has extended the deadline for application for various elective seats from November 30, to December 2016.
NEB chairperson Judy Pareno said they have so far received over 2,000 applications from across the Country, with more applications coming-in daily, hence the extension of the applications by one more month.
She said the decision was properly reached-at, following extensive consultations between members of the National Executive Board (NEB).
"We have been receiving applications on a daily basis. We are even receiving petitions that the time for applications be extended to give everybody sufficient time to apply," Pareno said, Monday.
Addressing the press at Orange House, the NEB chairperson reiterated the party's exception towards public servants, saying they still had room to submit their applications after the December 31 deadline, until the day they tender their resignation from respective positions.
She however said it should be before February 8, 2017, as stipulated by the Independent electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
She further sounded a warning to aspirants who claim they already have nomination certificates from the ODM party.
Pareno noted the party was yet to issue anybody a certificate until nominations are complete in February next year.
"Nobody has given anybody nomination certificate. We are yet to nominate any aspirant for any position until the nominations end in February 2017,'' she said.
