The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has finally made it clear that it has not entered into any sort of political pact with the ruling Jubilee Party.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the Orange Party Director of Communications Philip Etale maintained that contrary to the claims being peddled by some political players, ODM is not having any merger or coalition negotiations with the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led block.
He accused the Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula-led Ford Kenya party, one of the member parties of the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA), of giving misleading communication about ODM's involvement with Jubilee.
''I want to make it clear to our Partners in the NASA Coalition @FordKenyaSimba that, the ODM Party has not entered into any partnership with Jubilee party as they claim in their statement,'' said Etale.
He reiterated the party's earlier stand that the recent reconciliation and unity pledge between its leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta was only aimed at realizing national cohesion.
''Our Party Leader @RailaOdinga only held talks with @UKenyatta on how to unite Kenyans,'' he added.
ODM has also had an uphill task convincing the remaining Amani National Congress (ANC) and Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) opposition member parties that the reconciliation had no hidden agenda.
