Homa bay town MP Peter Kaluma and his rival Washington Ogada have both been fined shs 100,000 each by ODM  over chaos witnessed at the memorial of the late senator otieno Kajwang, at Homa bay stadium on November 27.

The two rivals fought at the event in front of party leader Raila odinga,where kaluma was wrestled to the ground by ogaga who is seeking to unseat him.

The two are among seven other party leaders summoned by the partys National Election Board to explain the cause of violence.The rest include woman rep Gladys wanga,MP oyugi Magwanga,kevin ouma and Homa bay governor cyprian Awiti.

The other summoned leaders were accused of using youths to heckle Governor Awiti as he adressed the crowd during the event to mark the memorial.The most hit was Ouma who was banned from holding any elective or appointive party office over invilvement in chaos.

"These activities have contravened the ODM code of conduct which they pledged to uphold.They are also a threat to peaceful conduct of party primaries. These actions should serve to convey a clear message to ODM politicians that the party is committed to ensuring peace at its rallies and during part primaries,"said Oduor Ongwen the ODM executive director.
