At a function in Eldoret on Sunday, Ruto accused his 'bosses' of plotting to sneak constitutional changes, adding that he will oppose the move.

"Those bosses trying to sneak constitutional changes must be warned. Our people are not stupid. They should be allowed to chose their leaders," he said.

But with sources intimating that Uhuru and Raila may have agreed to change the constitution to weaken presidency, ODM leaders have joined the bandwagon, saying the move would redeem electoral image in the country.

And party treasurer Timothy Bosire now says Ruto is keen to thwart progressive efforts that could save the country from further detriment.

"The DP should live in the present day. He should stop dragging us given what we are trying to fix has dearly cost our country good reputation," he said.

The ex-Kitutu Masaba MP asked Uhuru to openly talk about his unity deal with Raila to ease tension particularly from the Jubilee wing.

Highly placed sources within the ODM party intimate that Uhuru could push constitutional changes to provide avenue for parliamentary system of government, which Ruto is opposed to.
