Ababu Namwamba has been given an ultimutum of seven days by ODM to resume duty or formally communicate his decision to the party for appropriate action to be taken.

In a statement issued on Thursday following a meeting held at Orange house by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party.

"One of the Deputies Secretary General Sen. Agnes Zani has been appointed to handle the functions of the Secretary General in acting capacity." Reads a section of the statement.

The added that Ababu should communicate his official position to the party.

 "The ODM shall hold its party primaries in the month of February 2017 to give give sufficient room for successful candidates and the party to prepare for the general election." it added.
