Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has pledged to work closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta despite the controversy surrounding his legitimacy.
For weeks now, ODM leader Raila Odinga has insisted that he will not recognize Uhuru's victory and even threatened to swear himself.
And on Friday in Nyamira, Nyagarama, who is serving his second term, said the county government is keen to work with the national government.
"As governor, I want to work with the national government to spur growth in our region. Time for politicking is over," he said.
He further said: "We cannot continue dragging the nation and that is why I want to move on. frictions won't help us."
A number of NASA governors have pledged to work with the president with surprise declaration from Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok setting pace.
Back at home, Nyagarama is facing a tough case filed by his main challenger Walter Nyambati.
