Governor John Nyagarama of Nyamira is said to have blocked County Secretary Erick Onchana from resuming duty despite court order barring him.
A source privy to intrigues within the county government says acting County Secretary has refused to exit despite the return of his boss.
"He resumed work on Monday but he is yet to report to office because the current occupant is reluctant to leave," said the source.
Further, the source says, Nyariki has blessings directly from the county boss who is believed not to be keen on working with Onchana.
A Kisumu court had issued an order barring the governor from sacking at least nine officials among them 8 Chief Officers.
"They were on an annual leave which has since expired. By now they should be in their office," said Nyagarama in response to allegations that he had blocked the County Secretary.
But despite insisting that he had obeyed the court order, Mr Nyariki continues to execute duties from the office of Onchana.
