Kingi, who is defending his seat on an ODM ticket, said Kenya is bigger than any politician, adding that peace is paramount for the growth of the economy.

Speaking during a meeting with religious leaders on Saturday which was also attended by Kilifi Women Rep Aisha Jumwa, the county boss asked both NASA and Jubilee leaders to root for peaceful elections.

"If one has a difference with a political aspirant or does not like them, let them take the frustration to the ballot during August 8 election rather than stoning and disrupting rallies. Your weapon is your vote," said Kingi, as quoted by the Nation.

He also condemned rowdy supporters who heckled NASA presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto last week.

"Jubilee also faced a similar opposition in Kisumu after youths disrupted Deputy President William Ruto’s speech and later stoned a convoy of the Jubilee leaders," he added.
