Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has accused Jubilee aspirants in the county of using unorthodox tactics in their campaigns.
Kingi, who is ODM’s point man in the county, accused Jubilee Women Representative candidate Amina Munyazi and Senatorial aspirant Ken Nyale of using illegal tactics to frustrate his re-election bid ahead of Tuesday’s general election. The county boss said he has evidence that the duo has been tarnishing his name during their campaign rallies.“We today received reports from our youth that the two aspirants (Amina Munyazi and Ken Nyale) are plotting to distribute papers with negative information about me,” said Kingi, as quoted by Baraka FM. The Governor asked police to intervene in the matter and take action against Munyazi and Nyale for inciting residents.Kingi said the Jubilee candidates have sensed defeat, adding that their scheme to poison the minds of the voters will not yield fruits.Munyazi, however, dismissed Kingi’s claims, terming them baseless and ill driven. She challenged Kingi to account for the billions he has been receiving from the national government over the past four years. “My message to him is very simple, tell the people of Kilifi what you have done for them, instead of looking for sympathy votes through cries of a crocodile,” said Munyazi.
