The war of words between between Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and President Uhuru Kenyatta is back on the cards with Kingi now demanding for an apology from the Head of State.

Speaking while launching the construction of the Mariakani-Bamba road early last week, the President said Kilifi County receives Sh9.6 billion from the Central government annually, money which the Governor cannot account for.

However, speaking in his county on Tuesday, the ODM point man in the region denied receiving such an amount of money from the government.

"It came to me as a shock to see the President lie to the people over what the county is receiving. The President should make sure that we get the Sh13 billion we have not yet received if indeed Kilifi was supposed to get Sh 9.6 billion every year. If it is not true, then he should apologize," Kingi said.

This comes after President Uhuru said Mombasa County has received Sh40 billion since its inception, remarks that were dismissed by Governor Hassan Joho, who said his government had only received Sh17 billion.

Kingi and Joho, who have vowed not to give Jubilee Party space in the region, have been under constant attacks from the President himself who is accusing them of being stumbling blocks to development in the region.

However, the two firebrand politicians have declared not to change their political stand.
