Marsabit Governor Ukur Yatani has hinted at ditching the Raila Odinga-led ODM for Jubilee Party.
Speaking on Tuesday, the governor said plans are underway to formalise his defection to President Uhuru Kenyatta's party, adding that he would seek his re- election on the party ticket during the August polls.
“Plans are under way to join Jubilee Party so that we can seek our re-election,” the Nation quoted the county chief.
Yatani is facing fierce competition for the Jubilee Party ticket from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) boss Mohamud Ali who is seeking to unseat him.
He exuded confidence that he will win the party's ticket during nominations.
“There is no need in giving warnings and threats to the president over ticket issues. We soon will know the decision of the people because they have the voice,” he said.
