Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu has issued a new demand in regards to ongoing party primaries.

Mruttu has demanded that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)  postpone its party primaries citing lack of credibility.

According to Mruttu, primaries in the county were flawed should be postponed until issues raised by his team were fully addressed.

The county boss has alleged that he had proof that his opponent in the gubernatorial race had compromised the ODM electoral officials.“

I have forwarded my complaints and evidence to the elections board; my supporters want the grievances to be acted on promptly. We can’t have local election officials colluding with candidates and expect free and fair process,” said Mruttu.

He has claimed that the opponent had a meeting with the officials in Mombasa, and planned to rig him out.H

e has since forwarded his complaints to the ODM National Elections Board for action.

He warned that the process might be marred by protests should the party fail to act on his concerns.
