An ODM governor has asked ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya party Moses Wetangula to join hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka in bid to unite the country.
Kisii County Governor James Ongwae said Wetangula and Mudavadi have gone into hiding after Raila-Uhuru’s handshake.
“I am appealing to my brothers (Wetangula and Mudavadi) to be part of the leaders pushing for the country’s unity. Their silence is bad for the politics this country,” he said.
He stated that the move by Uhuru, Ruto, Raila and Kalonzo to forgive each other is good especially in the fight against corruption.
Ongwae called on leaders from the Gusii region to be at the forefront fighting corruption in the region.
“We know corruption is illegal and punishable by law. It is time as leaders we should come up and fight corruption which may derail development in the region.
"Public funds sent from the national government to the two Gusii counties should be utilized well and fund various projects which are beneficial to our people,” he added.
Ongwae was speaking during the Madaraka day celebrations at Itiero Primary school grounds in Bonchari Sub County on Friday.
