Speaking on Tuesday shortly after the High Court in Migori upheld his win in the August 8 election, Governor Okoth Obado said his main focus now is implementing his development agenda which is in line with Jubilee’s Big Four plan.

“Now I want to focus on mega projects. My agenda is in sync with the Big Four that the national government is talking about,” said Obado.

President Uhuru's Big Four plan which was unveiled in December 2017 is aimed at attaining economic development in the country.

The Head of State said food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and affordable healthcare are the four key agendas his administration will focus on during his second term in office.

The petition against Obado had been filed by former Rongo MP Ochilo Ayako.

Ayako wanted Obado’s win nullified on grounds that the election had been marred by cases of irregular voting, voter bribery as well as incidences of violence during the campaigns.

However, in his ruling on Tuesday, Justice Hillary Chemitei said Ayoka had not provided sufficient evidence to justify the invalidation of the election results.

Ayako was ordered to pay Sh6 million as petition cost to be shared among Obado and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
