Turkana Governor Joseph Nanok has praised President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision to nominate two former county bosses to his cabinet.

President Kenyatta announced on Friday that he had nominated former governors Peter Munya and Hussein Dado to be cabinet secretaries.

Mr Nanok, who was elected on Raila Odinga’s ODM ticket, said the nominations will help deepen the relationship between the county governments and the national administration.

“On behalf of the Council of Governors and the 47 County Government, I congratulate you all on your nomination and look forward to working with you to ensure Devolution remains the vehicle that delivers the people’s aspirations,” Nanok, who is also serving as the Council of Governors chairman, said.

ODM, part of the NASA coalition, maintains that they do not recognise Uhuru Kenyatta as president. Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition, has vowed to be sworn in tomorrow, claiming that he won last year's presidential election.
