Turkana governor Josephat Nanok has yet again dismissed Raila Odinga's proposed three-tier government as the relationship between the two deteriorates.
At Kakamega during Devolution Conference, Raila proposed creation of 14 more regions to expand correlations between county governments.
While Nanok does not dismiss the idea in totality, he however said that it should be given 20 more years.
"I don't think there is a county that wants its projects and programmes to be coordinated in another region," he said.
The ODM Vice Chairman added: "When we complete about 20 years, that is when such a debate can be thought of ."
In recent months, Nanok has been having a conflicting stand with that of Raila, despite the two being close associates.
A fortnight ago, a section of Turkana leaders asked Deputy President William Ruto to consider him as running mate in 2022 polls.
