Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has dismissed claims that he owns a chopper and luxurious yacht.
The outspoken Governor denied the allegations on Thursday when he met religious leaders from different denominations who endorsed him for a second term in office. The county boss, a close ally of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, said he only bought a rescue boat for responding to distress calls in the region."When I took office in 2013, we purchased 25 fully-equipped ambulances. Ambulances can only operate on land," said Kingi, who is spearheading NASA campaigns at the Coast alongside Joho."Kilifi borders the Indian Ocean from Mtwapa up to Magarini. We had to set up a coastguard unit to respond to cases of drowning," he added. He urged the electorate not to be misled by leaders propagating lies against him."Kilifi residents should not buy these lies. A helicopter is not a razor blade that you will buy and hide in your pocket,” said Kingi.
