Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama will fully respect High Court ruling on an election petition challenging his victory.

High Court Judge James Makau is set to issue the official ruling date on January 23 this year when all parties give final submission.

Through the Communication Department, Nyagarama says he will be willing to face electorates if the court declares so.

"Our courts ought to be respected. I shall fully comply with the court ruling no matter the outcome. I equally challenge my competitor to follow suit.

"Our judiciary has come of age and they usually made objective rulings. I will be comfortable with whichever outcome," he said.

Jubilee candidate Walter Nyambati had challenged Nyagarama's victory on grounds that elections were not free and fair.

During the August elections, Nyagarama was declared winner having garnered over 63,000 votes to Nyambati's 59,000.
