Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has warned against interference of court processes adding that independence of courts should be respected.
Making indirect reference to an election petition challenging his victory, Nyagarama however said he will abide by the court's verdict.
"Our courts are independent and no one should try to intimidate judges. He (Uhuru Kenyatta) has expressed interest before but the rule of law ought to be respected," he said.
He further added: "We cannot allow external interference because courts are independent. Let us respect the judiciary all times."
Moments before presidential repeat poll, President Uhuru vowed to ensure he monitors the Nyamira governorship petition.
Filed by Jubilee candidate Walter Nyambati, the court has since called for recount in 29 controversial polling stations and scrutiny in 90 others.
It is not the first time the president is being accused of interfering with judicial processes given that he is on record for 'threatening' Supreme Court judges.
