Aides attached to Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama on kicked and boxed Nation Media Group driver on Wednesday.
According to the victim, Eric Osoro, a group of heavy bodied men descended on him for allegedly 'blocking' the governor's motorcade, with in depth investigations indicating otherwise.
"They told me to clear the way but two of their vehicles had already blocked me in front and behind so I couldn't get out," he said.
He further said: "They hit me hard on my jaws yet I have a serious toothache and even tried to pull me out of the vehicle."
Apparently, one of the assaulter has been identified as Kefa Mocheche, an Ex-PA to Nyagarama, who has been appointed as Deputy Chief of staff.
The county government has already issued apology to the media even though the case has been picked by the police.
Cases of harassment in journalists by county officials are synonymous in Nyamira, with similar incident taking slightly over a year ago at Nyakongo High School.
