IEBC commissioners addressing the press recently. The commissioners are on two-day retreat in Naivasha starting Sunday in a bid to end infighting within the Commission. [Photo: Citizen Digital]ODM Party National Treasurer Timothy Bosire has revealed what the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) requires to conduct a free and fair repeat presidential election.Bosire has said that IEBC requires men and women of integrity who can guarantee Kenyans reliable results out of their democratic right to elect leaders of their choice."Three or four times, the IEBC has tried but has not been able to guarantee that kind of enabling environment. NASA was vindicated through the internal memo by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati that the electoral body did not live up to expectations, as we always complained.""Even the 12 questions he raised for CEO Ezra Chiloba in a way answered our series of concerns that the commission did not do things right. They were not men and women of integrity and didn’t follow the rules. They did not live up to honesty and respecting Kenyan voters’ rights," Bosire says in an opinion piece on Monday Star. The former MP says that going to a seminar in Rift Valley presuming to reconcile and agree to come out better prepared to do the elections 'is to say the least, pretentious, hypocritical and unlikely to yield different results'."In two or three days, I don’t see the commission handling the national electoral process to the standards required. Money is not a priority at all. What is of priority is the correct structure and this has to do with the correct human composition, especially on this very important exercise; and that cannot be done overnight," he says.
