Kisii County Woman Representative hopeful Doris Donya has claimed that Opposition party ODM's popularity is dwindling in Gusii region with just two months to the general elections.
Donya will be vying on the Jubilee Party ticket after she trounced the incumbent Woman Representative Mary Otara during the primaries.
Speaking to The Star Newspaper on Sunday, Donya noted that Jubilee Party will win more seats during the August polls than it did in 2013.
She further exuded confidence that President Uhuru Kenya will garner more votes from the region.
“ODM is slowly dying in this region. On August 8, President Uhuru will get more votes in the region than he got in 2013. JP will get more seats than the opposition,” she noted.
Gusii region comprises of Kisii and Nyamira counties.
The two counties voted overwhelmingly for Opposition leader Raila Odinga during the 2007 and 2013 polls.
President Kenyatta is expected in the region on Tuesday, in a move aimed at intensifying his re-election bid.
