Supporters in Kisumu have spoiled the plan of a group of youths who intended to demonstrate in an attempt to force National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders to give Raila Odinga a second term should he win in the upcoming election.

However due to an agreement between the principals of the Nasa party, Odinga was to only serve one term.

According to reports, approximately 50 youth wearing T-shirts branded "10 million Strong, Raila Miaka Kumi" mobilized near Awuori House in Kisumu on Wednesday.

The actions of the youth prompted a resistance from ODM supporters as they moved in and started beating them while seizing their merchandise and lighting it on fire.

One of the youths in the scuffle was caught and later mentioned that they had been given Sh500 each from coordinators to show up in branded T-shirts and caps.

The ODM leaders in Kisumu believe Jubilee could be behind the demonstrations.

MP Oburu Oginga who is the Nasa Nyanza presidential campaign team co-chair meet with several leaders following to the event. “We got information over the plot by some two senior Jubilee leaders from this region over the plans to have the protests to cause discord among Nasa principals and their supporters. We know Jubilee is desperate but we want to tell them that no amount of propaganda will derail our course,” Dr Oginga said.
