Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is keen to reinstate four MPs considered to be rebellious to the committees in the National Assembly.
The newly elected ODM party secretary for political affairs Hon Opiyo Wandayi said the party now needs every member to focus on the coming elections.
The party had de-whipped Ken Obura of Kisumu Central, Samuel Arama of Nakuru Town West, Dalmas Otieno of Rongo and Zainab Chidzuga, Kwale Woman rep from various committees in the National Assembly.
Wandayi said reinstating them is a reconciliatory approach of the party to ensure no party member drifts away.
“ODM office is now intact and it is our duty to ensure everybody is in. We are sending an olive branch to our members who drifted away to come back,” he said.
However, the MP said the four MPs must be remorseful for their actions and their willingness to commit themselves to the ideals of the party.
Addressing a press conference in Kisumu, Wandayi who also represents Ugunja constituency said he is ready to take up the case to bring them back to the committees.
“Those members must also commit that they are ready to come back and help us build the party,” he said.
He announced that he will raise the matter at the party National Executive Committee to bring them back.
Two days ago, attempts by ODM to replace the de-whipped MPs from committees flopped when a motion presented by CORD Minority Whip Thomas Mwadegu was defeated after Jubilee legislators termed the move a show of 'parliamentary dictatorship and political intolerance.'
