The ODM party has returned to the drawing board to strategise on how to field a candidate who will challenge Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba in 2017.
A source from the ODM Busia County office told this writer that on Friday, county ODM leaders will be in Budalang'i to meet all candidates who have declared interest to run as MP in the constituency.
Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong, according to the source will chair the meeting that will also be attended by Busia Women Rep Florence Mutua.
So far, ten candidates have declared interest to run for MP on an ODM ticket.
"On Friday, the governor will be here to meet the candidates. He will be accompanied by Florence Mutua," he said.
"The agenda mainly revolves around discussions on how to pick the best candidate to run against Namwamba."
Among those who have declared interest for the seat is Busia Finance CeC Leonard Obimbira.
Namwamba about two months ago resigned from his position as ODM Secretary General.
He said he had been frustrated at the party by some powerful party officials.
Former Budalang'i MP Raphael Wanjala is also expected to run for the seat.
