Uhuru has since been accused of failing to honour his recently launched national cohesion pledge, by silently watching Miguna being detained and deported, with the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lawmaker now saying that the President is in no way linked to the issue.

In an interview on Radio Jambo Saturday, Aladwa noted that Miguna's case revolves around himself, his lawyer and the immigration department, clearing both President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga of blame.

"Uhuru cannot be blamed for Miguna's troubles. This is an issue between Miguna's side and the immigration department and neither Uhuru nor Raila are part of the sides," he said.

He added that Miguna could have avoided his embarrassment and detention at the Jomo Kenyatta international Airport (JKIA) if only he had complied with the law.

"The immigration department was not interested in harassing him but was only doing its constitutional job. He brought it upon himself when he refused to surrender his documents, and went ahead to destroy forms meant to be used to process his new documents," he added.

Miguna who is currently stranded in a Dubai airport, after his deportation, has since accused Odinga of abandoning him, despite having fully supported the former Prime Minister during his January 30 mock Presidential inauguration.
