Nakuru Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party will not work with leaders who go against party principles and rules, assembly minority leader Daniel Ambale has said.
Ambale said that the party will not tolerate members who deviate from the rules and regulations set by the party. He said the members in Nakuru have directions not to associate with members whom he termed as ‘traitors’.
“We want to put it clearly that we will not work with or tolerate members who go against party rules,” he said.
Ambale accused some members of working against the party principles, saying such leaders risk losing their membership if they do not reform.
The minority leader, however, indicated that they are ready to work with leaders who are development-oriented.
He urged leaders in the government and the Opposition to focus on development and fulfil the pledges they made to Kenyans.
His sentiments came before Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama vowed to stand and fight his political opponents to the end.
Speaking when he met women group leaders in his constituency, Arama said he will not quit the ODM.
“I will not be afraid to speak what is right as a Member of Parliament. Days when leaders used to worship party leaders are long gone and elected leaders must be free to air their views,” said Arama.
He added that speaking his views is guaranteed in the constitution and thus he would keep speaking and doing what benefits his constituents.
