The leaders said that they are not happy with the current killings in various part of the country, but maintained that they will not sit back and watch the government put in place laws that will violate the fundamental rights of Kenyans.

Led by ODM party chairman John Mbadi and the party secretary General Ababu Namwamba, and the party secretary of political affairs James Opiyo Wandayi, the ODM legislators said that they are ready to only support laws that have proper structures of security for all Kenyans.

Speaking during the official ground breaking ceremony of Ugenya Medical Training Institute at Urenga grounds, Mbadi and Namwamba stated that ODM as a party has already identified key areas in the security Bill that they are recommending to be amended once the Bill is brought for the third reading in the national Assembly.

Mbadi urged the media to also join in the fight of seeing to it that the security Bill is amended before being passed into law, since the bill at its present state seeks to infringe media freedom on publication once it becomes a law.

Wandayi expressed fears that Jubilee government is trying to illegally amend the constitution by using the back door in their move to bring laws that intends to take Kenyans back to the dark days when people were being detained without trial.

Other leaders present included Ugenya MP David Ochieng, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, Kasipul MP Silvas Osele, Suna East MP Junnet Muhammed ,Butula MP Michael Onyura, Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo and Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo among other leaders.
