The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) held its first parliamentary group meeting today (Tuesday) after the August 2017 elections.
In a series of tweets on Tuesday, ODM pointed out that the members praised Raila for making the courageous move that showed his statesmanship.
However, Raila was urged to stay focused on the big picture and refuse to be destructed by 2022 politics.
"ODM PG lauds Party Leader H.E. @RailaOdinga for the move to work with H.E. @UKenyatta to unite Kenya. The PG says the move is courageous, bold and a show of STATESMANSHIP. The PG encouraged H.E. @RailaOdinga to stay focused on the big picture and the struggle for a better, Just, inclusive and fair Kenya & refuse to be destructed by those positioning themselves for 2022," tweeted ODM party.
The members also asked Raila to use his engagement with the president to seek justice for those affected during the 2007/08 post-election violence as well as find a long lasting solution to the problem.
"The PG encouraged the Party Leader to use the engagement between him and @UKenyatta to seek Justice for the victims of PEV and find a lasting reconciliation and unity of the nation," added ODM.
Raila met President Kenyatta on Friday last week in a bid to unite the country by preventing further polarization of Kenyans.
