Many believe that ODM is still strong in the region but the current signs can tell otherwise.

Raila Odinga has visited Nyamira county twice skipping Kisii County what many can conclude that ODM is no longer a force in Kisii county.

Unlike in Nyamira where Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Timothy Bosire has been seen as a very loyal and outspoken member of the to the party, in Kisii county, no politicians has shown the same level of loyalty to the party and even  meetings.

The last time Raila was in Kisii County was during the burial ceremony of the former principal of Nyabigena high school Joseph Obare.

The sources indicate that Obure who is yet to declare his  Gubernatorial ambitions is planning to decamp ODM, a move that will be detrimental to the party given his huge following in Kisii as the senior most politician from the region.

Even some members of Parliament have been seen working close with the Jubilee government showing that they might decamp to JAP.

The other factor is that the ODM office which is allocated at Jogoo in Kisii town has never been opened.

Another challenge in Kisii has is that both officials of the party are also county officials Led by Chris Obure, Governor James Ongwae, and Speaker Kerosi Ondieki each having delegates who also working in the county.
