Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has suffered a major blow after two Member of County Assembly (MCA) candidates he was supporting were trounced.
Mandago publicly endorsed Langas ODM MCA candidate Charles Okumu and Huruma ODM MCA candidate Andrew Sure against Jubilee candidates Francis Muya and Peter Chomba.
The two however failed to win the seats with Muya and Chomba emerging victorious. In the race for Langas MCA seat, Muya was declared the winner after garnering 9,429 votes against Okumu's 6,917.
Official results for Huruma ward has not been declared but provisional figures indicate Chomba was headed for a win.
Chomba and Muya have been critics of governor Jackson Mandago's administration and they publicly campaigned for independent candidate Zedekiah Bundotich popularly known as Buzeki.
