The second-term lawmaker who decamped from ODM on grounds that he was not sure if he will be given nomination now says that his life is in danger and asked the police to beef up security in his home.

Speaking during a morning talk show on Tuesday at a local TV station, Rege said political hostilities towards him had increased since he moved to the Uhuru Kenyatta-led Jubilee Party.

The lawmaker had earlier on denied that he had joined Jubilee after he was seen attending the official launch of the party a fortnight ago.

This comes amid sustained pressure on the legislator to seek for a fresh mandate from the electorate as the law states that whoever decamps from a party that sponsored him to Parliament they will automatically lose their seat.
