Timothy Bosire says nurses are justified to down their tool due to ‘fake’ promises made by the government over their pay.

Operations in key hospitals across the country remained paralyzed for the better part of Monday following the decision by nurses union to advise its members to down their tools.

“We have reached a point where we conclude that Jubilee government is only pleased to see people suffering than empowering them. My call to Gusii people is that time has come to make critical decisions.

“This government is good at Public Relations gimmicks. They have deceived teachers and doctors before. As their leader, I request them to come out and demand for their right,” Bosire told a local Radio station.

Last year, the country witnessed what could arguably be termed as the ‘worst’ industrial strike by medics when doctors downed their tools for over three months.

Although nurses had signed a CBA with both the national and county governments, they argue that the two levels of government are yet to implement the agreement, four months down the lane.
