North Mugirango MP Charles Geni will no longer access Constituency Development Funds kitty till a case challenging alleged misappropriation and corruption is heard.
On Thursday, resident Judge Chrispin Naggillah issued orders restraining the MP and CDF manager from transacting the funds until the case is determined.
The grand cracking case was filed by one Frank Anyona, a Maasai Mara University student who questioned Geni’s development record in the region.
Further, Mr. Geni and his CDF team will no longer use the CDF van, which the plaintiff claims that is used in most times to campaign for the MP despite being a public vehicle.
Among charges the MP is facing includes issuance of bursaries to-non- residents, misuse of CDF funds and campaigning using public resources.
Last year, the first time legislator shocked Nyaramba locals when he sped off with a microphone meant for the funeral of a former MP, Geoffrey Masanya.
Geni is ODM Nyamira branch Secretary General and a fierce supporter of opposition leader Raila Odinga.
