Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko wants an audit conducted on all the projects that have been launched by the Jubilee government since it took over office in 2013.
The ODM MP claimed that some of the Jubilee projects might not be up to standard, adding that taxpayers’ money could have been wasted on shoddy projects.Mboko claimed Jubilee has been rushing to complete various projects with the aim of hoodwinking voters ahead of the August polls.“We want an audit to be conducted on all projects done by Jubilee to know whether they are up to standards in terms of quality and value,” said Mboko, as quoted by the Standard.Speaking on Wednesday, Mboko said the Sh1.2 billion Sigiri Bridge in Busia that recently collapsed is a clear indicator of why there is need to audit all the other Jubilee projects. The Likoni MP aspirant asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to take personal responsibility for the collapsed bridge. The Sigiri Bridge collapsed on Monday injuring at least 27 people according to media reports. The contractor is said to have taken responsibility for the collapse.NASA leaders have since hit out at Jubilee over the collapsed bridge promising to construct quality projects if they win the August 8 polls.
