Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi has called for public execution of Luo Nyanza leaders imagining to succeed Raila Odinga even before 2022 elections.
Succession battles have eclipsed Raila's surprise handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta with pundits predicting that the veteran leader could exit political stage.
But Atandi, the first term MP, says the debate is immature that recommending for execution of those interested through stoning.
"We do not have a crisis in leadership in Nyanza and anyone talking about Raila succession should be stoned," he said.
Chairman of Kenya Diaspora Alliance Shem Ochuodho has already identified individuals who he thinks will take over Raila's Luo Nyanza dormancy once he retires.
"Of course James Orengo, Dalmas Otieno and myself are the probable candidates. This will come to pass," he said.
Although he has being skeptical about the issue, Orengo is said to be secretly lobbying to take over, with his latest coup in Senate whee he plotted removal of Moses Wetangula as Senate Minority Leader speaking volumes.
Further, Orengo has been accused by a section of Luo leaders of plotting to take over from Raila, despite the veteran leader having not made his intentions clear.
